In the Neighborhood: Hudson Yards

April 29, 2019

A new neighborhood has popped up on the West Side of Manhattan, the space transformed from the ground up—way up. Located between 10th and 12th Avenues from West 30th to West 34th Street, Hudson Yards is home to a handful of attractions including a one-million-square-foot retail center with over 100 places to shop, a five-acre smart park, as well as its landmark structure, the Vessel.

While most projects are complete and open to the public, The Shed (a multimedia cultural center) and the Edge (not only the highest observation deck in NYC, but the highest in the Western Hemisphere) are still in the works.

Since the Edge won't be open until 2020, your best bet for a killer Instagram is climbing your way up the beehive. The Vessel, a 60-ton sculpture resembling a honeycomb, is a large spiral structure made up of 154 interconnecting staircases, almost 2,500 individual steps and 80 landings. The vantage point from the top almost rivaling the view from the top of The Skylark—almost.

Shop and explore your way through Hudson Yards, then hop on the 7 or walk over to catch the sunset from our roof deck on the 30th floor. Don't worry, we won't make you take the stairs.
