Jake Gyllenhaal is a 6 minute walk from The Skylark.

It turns out Jake Gyllenhaaal can sing. And you can see him (alongside the incomparable Annaleigh Ashford) in Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George, playing at our new neighbor the Hudson Theater through April 23.

Well, not exactly new neighbor. Since opening its doors in 1903, the Hudson Theater has acted as a TV studio, a porn palace, and a concert hall, and has hosted everything from Andy Warhol’s film premieres to bat mitzvahs. It’s only fitting then that the theater’s debut production is one that examines the implications of art, the evolution of taste, and the creative process itself. Ben Brantley gave it a sparkling review (twice!), and if you still need convincing after this, read it here.

But trust us. Get your hands on one of the few tickets left over the next few weeks and bring your ticket stub to the Skylark after the show. Order a drink, enjoy an appetizer on us, and remember all the magical reasons that brought you to this city in the first place.*

*Present your ticket stub at The Skylark and receive an appetizer on the house (with purchase of two cocktails) before or after the show!
