Not in the neighborhood per se, but a quick trip on the BDFM will transport you to Italy. Little Italy, that is.
And while this neighborhood is always buzzing, Little Italy’s annual Feast of San Gennaro attracts locals and tourists like no other. 2019 marks the 93rd year of the festival which runs from September 12th through September 22nd.
Although the Feast of San Gennaro is a celebration of faith, the festive atmosphere, delicious food and colorful processions are what it’s known for—Especially the food. All of the restaurants build out additional seating outside their establishments and overflow into the streets. You’ll also find a food truck for every Italian food item you can imagine. Plus, if you’ve got a particularly big appetite, you have the chance to face off in a range of food eating competitions including cannolis, zeppoles, and meatballs. Mangia!
Stop by The Skylark for a round of drinks before making your way to Mulberry Street and enjoy calm before the festival storm.
